The Spirit of ’68 Series is our tribute to one of the most distinctive chapters in electric guitar history.
Inspired by the original 1968 Paisley Red Telecaster, these instruments capture the bold creativity of the „Summer of Love“ era, when Big-F introduced its iconic Paisley Red and Blue Flower finishes using embossed decorative Cling-Foil beneath a clear polyester finish. Produced for only a short time, the originals have become some of the rarest and most collectible vintage Telecasters ever made.
Our goal is not simply to reproduce the appearance of these legendary guitars, but to recreate the manufacturing process as faithfully as possible.
Over many years, we have assembled a collection of original vintage Cling-Foil material, which served as the basis for developing our own printing process and embossing dies. Every Paisley body is produced with the correct three-dimensional texture and period-correct pattern, preserving the unique character of the original finish.
The finishing process follows original 1968 specifications: a polyester base finish with a nitrocellulose lacquer top coat. Just like the originals, the finish develops warmth and character over time, giving each instrument its own unique appearance.
Every Spirit of ’68 guitar is built with vintage-correct construction, carefully selected tonewoods, authentic neck profiles, and traditional hardware. Whether finished as a pristine NOS instrument or with decades of convincing natural wear, each guitar is handcrafted to honor one of the most iconic designs ever to leave the factory.
